Griffin Brown - Founder, Editor-in-chief, and Translator

Griffin is a high school student from Massachusetts passionate about translation and Spanish literature. His archive, Language & Labor, aims to make Spanish poetry more accessible and show how postcolonial societies’ history is present in their past and modern literature.

Isaac Mijares - Translator

Isaac Mijares is someone who believes there's a world inside every person. He's currently a PhD candidate of Comparative Literature at Yale University, a passionate learner and even more passionate writer, though hardly an academic—he prefers the still-inadequate and still-far-from-earned title of "storyteller." Translation to him is a kind of literary alchemy and rhetorical sorcery; an activity that is, at once, genuinely a puzzle and a real act of artistic creation. To him, it's as much about the translation of a story as it is about the story behind a translation. 

Kelly Scott Franklin - Translator

Kelly Scott Franklin’s poems and translations have appeared in The Hopkins Review, Nimrod, Able Muse, Literary Matters, Driftwood, Thimble Literary Magazine, and elsewhere. His essays and reviews have appeared in Commonweal, The Wall Street Journal, The New Criterion, and elsewhere. He has a Ph.D. in English from the University of Iowa and an M.A. in Spanish from Middlebury College. He is an Associate Professor of English at Hillsdale College, and lives in Michigan with his wife and daughters.

Samantha is a Peruvian American translator and scholar pursuing a PhD in Comparative Literature at Yale University. Her research explores the intersections of modernist literary traditions in Brazil, Ireland, and Peru, with a focus on transnational modernism, language, and cultural exchange.

María Matilde Morales - Translator

Matilde is a PhD candidate in Comparative Literature at Harvard University. She is interested in intermediality and medieval-modernist connections in Soviet, Polish, Italian, and Latin American traditions. Her writing and translations have come out or are forthcoming with Kunstlicht, The Adroit Journal, and Alexandria Books.
