José Joaquín de Mora
José Joaquín de Mora (1783-1864) was a Spanish poet, writer, and politician. He was part of the Liberal Intellectual Movement and was known for his style of Neoclassism bordering on Romanticism. Some of the main themes in his work included nationalism and Republican ideals. He was exiled from Spain for his liberal views during the reign of Fernando VII. He moved to Chile before returning to Spain later in his life to continue writing and teaching.
