Amado Nervo

Born Juan Crisóstomo Ruiz de Nervo, Amado Nervo (1870-1919) was a Mexican and Uruguayan poet, diplomat, and journalist. He was known for his work in the modernismo movement. He often worked within the subject matters of idealism, melancholy, and transcendence. He pushed the barriers of poetry, expaniding the subject matters if the time. He broguht poetry to a wider audience in Spanish-speaking countries.
