Magda Portal

Magda Portal (1900-1989) was a trailblazing feminist Peruvian poet. She dedicated her life to her poetry and political activism, which included working for causes such as indigenous rights, anti-imperialism, and woman’s suffrage. She is widely recognized as Latin America’s first female vanguardist poet. She also was one of the founders of ARPA political party.
